Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
We incorporated in 2000, but we have over 35 years of experience in the Roofing and Construction business. We are a family owned and operated company.
What is your primary product or service?
We specialize in:
- The installation and repair of Shingle, Flat and Tile roofs.
- Installation of Vinyl Fascia and Soffits
- Rotted Wood Replacement
- Ridge Vent Installation
- Skylight and Solar Dome installation
- Window INstallation
We also have a Residential Contractors license so we are able to do more then most Roofing Contractors. We try to specialize in certain areas, but if you have a project give us a call. If we don't do that type of work, we will try to at least point you in the right direction and give you some tips on how to go about it.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My Father started this company. He's been in the construction business his entire life. He has vast experience in all construction phases, because he was once a home builder. He decided to focus on one area because over time it became harder and harder to find reliable and quality sub contractors which is needed when building homes or additions. In roofing, we are never at the mercy of other contractors. I.E. Electric, Plumbing, concrete etc. etc. I grew up in the business and was climbing a ladder by the time I was able to walk. When I got out of the Air Force, I decided to join the family business.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Quaility, Honesty and Integrity is our company motto. We only do high quality work, with high quality materials. We won't cut corners in order to squeak out more profits. Our family name is on all of our advertising and if you do that, you better do good work and have a happy customer base. We don't use daily labor (rent-a-drunks), illegal aliens or subcontractors. This gives us much better accountability over our employees and the work we do. We also pay our employees on an hourly rate as opposed to most companies who pay by the piece(per square footage). If an employee is paid by the work completed, he's much more likely to rush through a job, which results in a much higher fail ratio. We also offer our crews bonuses based on quality not quantity. Again, this just comes down to accountability and doing projects you can stand behind.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Currently we only have one location and don't have any plans to expand. The bigger you get the more problems you have and the less quality you produce.
Provide detailed directions to your location
We are located at the far west end of Ulmerton road before it turns into Walsingham road. Our office is in Largo, which is centrally located in Pinellas County across the street from the Pinellas County Animal Shelter.
What type of payments do you accept?
Checks, Cash, Money Orders and major credit cards.
Which areas do you service?
We service all of Pinellas County, but most of our work comes from Clearwater, Largo, Seminole and the surrounding beaches. One of the owners will be on site thoughout the day, so we don't like to be too spread out.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
My Father, Rocco Spadaccino, is the President and Owner. I'm Chris Spadaccino the V.P. We both maintain and run the daily operations.
What are your hours of operation?
Monday through Friday, someone is in the office by 6:45 a.m. We close our office at 4 p.m, except on Friday, we close at 3:30 P.M. When not in the office, we check our answering machine regularly. Our crews start at 7:30 a.m. (except during summer months when we on occasion start at 7 a.m., to help beat the heat) and the day generally ends at 3:30 p.m.
