Tutoring, Test Prep, and Homeschool Support for ALL Ages!
We are a small company that provides tutoring, test prep, and home schooling support for learners of ALL ages!
Every session with every student is completely customized for that unique learner. We don't use "one size fits all" programs, like some companies do!
All tutoring done by a state and Montessori certified teacher, with over 18 years of experience teaching and tutoring students (ranging from elem to adults).
We use hands-on materials to help students understand the REASONING behind the concepts and to make learning fun!
We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you - at no cost - to discuss your tutoring needs.
We do NOT require a long-term commitment or payment in advance! (But we do offer discounts for those who purchase a 'Ten Pack' or 'Twenty Pack' of sessions.) TUTORING CAN BE AS LITTLE AS $39 / HOUR!!

Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
I have been a full-time tutor since 2009, although I have been a teacher since 1991, and a teacher-educator since 1996.
What is your primary product or service?
We help learners of ALL ages to grow! We have worked with children from preschool to high school, and adults from freshmen in college to a (in her words) "late-life career changer" that was 63 years old!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
While there are many companies and individuals that offer tutoring and test prep, the thing that makes Seeds of Knowledge Tutoring unique is our use of so many hands-on materials, especially many Montessori materials, to help learners see the patterns and the connections in the knowledge.
Provide detailed directions to your location
We are located in the Arbor Glen subdivision in Palm Harbor. We are off of Tampa Rd, between Belcher and CR 1, almost next-door to Palm Harbor Middle School
Which areas do you service?
Clients generally come to our location, although, if our schedule permits, for an additional fee, we can travel to clients' homes.
While clients have come to us from as far away as Spring Hill, south St. Pete, Land O'Lakes, and Temple Terrace, most of our clients are from Palm Harbor, Clearwater, Safety Harbor, Tarpon Springs, Oldsmar, Odessa, Largo, and Dundedin.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Seeds of Knowledge Tutoring is wholly owned, managed, and staffed by Jennifer Young.
What are your hours of operation?
I want to make learning fit into YOUR schedule. Therefore, I see clients six days per week (I take Saturdays off), and I have appointments available from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
From an adult: "Why didn't anyone ever teach me that before?! Everything makes so much more sense now!"
From a child: "Do I have to leave? I'm having fun!"
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
The name of our company comes from two quotations, from two strong women, Dr. Maria Montessori, and Rachel Carson. I just love the way that the thoughts of these two women, whose lives focused on such different passions, reflect each other:
The secret of good teaching is to regard the child's intelligence as a fertile field in which seeds may be sown, to grow under the heat of flaming imagination. Our aim, therefore, is not merely to make the child understand, and still less to force him to memorize, but so to touch his imagination as to enthuse him to his inmost core. (Montessori, To Educate the Human Potential)
and
I sincerely believe that for the child, and for the parent seeking to guide him, it is not half so important to know as to feel. If facts ate the seeds that later produce knowledge and wisdom, then the emotions and the impressions of the senses are the fertile soil in which the seeds must grow… Once the emotions have been aroused - a sense of the beautiful, the excitement of the new and the unknown, a feeling of sympathy, pity, admiration or love - then we wish for knowledge about the object of our emotional response. (Rachel Carson, A Sense of Wonder)
