How long have you been in business?
Contemporary Designs in Cabinetry was formed as a legal entity in 2013. That said, our origin was back in the early 1990's when the business was known as the Wood Factory. After a change of ownership in 1997, we became Traditions Custom Woodworking, before I bought the company in 2007. After we completed a beautiful contemporary project, our client told me he almost did not come into our Showroom because our company name made him think we did not do contemporary projects. That came as a shock to me, but it was that valuable feedback that prompted me to select a new corporate name to highlight our love of contemporary / modern kitchen designs, along with transitional and traditional designs.
What is your primary product or service?
Contemporary Designs in Cabinetry has two primary roles: we design the kitchen (or bathroom) of our clients' dreams, and we provide the gorgeous and high quality cabinetry and countertops to make those dream kitchens a reality!
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
As a masters degreed Mechanical Engineer, I have worked in and around machine shops and technical environments my entire professional career. But before that, I worked part time and summers as a carpenter and always had a love for building beautiful things from wood. So, in 2007 I combined those experiences in a new career path by buying a custom cabinet company.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Contemporary Designs in Cabinetry places a major emphasis on partnering with our clients to collaborate with them on the design of their new kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, or media wall. Rather than trying to sell your cabinets, we want to develop a relationship with our you, and really listen to what you want! We have found that the more information our clients share with us, the better we can give them exactly what they want, and we can also give them the greatest value for their budget.

We are open weekdays from 9 AM to 4:30PM, but it is always best to call to make sure we are not already on a appointments helping other clients.

Our greatest source of satisfaction is when a client tells us that the truly love their new kitchen (or bath, or laundry room....).
